Most of which was spent queuing up to cross the finish! 😂

How can the ‘average’ finish time be over an hour? Or is it a statistical anomaly ?

Tbh @Son of a Pronator Man, that was a made-up stat. Just checked, Bushy results for yesterday are not up yet. But if people were queuing substantially to cross the line, it's possible.

I think as long as I got a credit for being there the time wouldn’t matter - well not to me as I’m never going to break any records for running.

I am not sure how they can fairly do the results. The one's with tokens and raffle tickets and hand written places. Then the finishers who didn't get a place or a time. I think the fairest way would be to give the 59.99. It might discourage people from overwhelming an event in the future. Having said that if it was my local I'm not sure I'd be happy either way.

The problem with 59:59 is then that becomes some people's genuine PBs and is out of reach for them on a "normal" day. It's fine if everyone had finished before then and that's the only time to be given because of a snafu with the timing, but I'd bet there are some parkrunners / parkwalkers with slower PBs (either at Bushy or overall) that attended on Saturday.

@larkim I’d not thought of that.

But that can already happen Larkim, can't it? Giving out at 59:59 because the timing system failed or other reasons is already normal practice, so that seems to be an argument for changing the 'default time' to say 1:59:59, rather than not applying the default to Bushy's results at the weekend?

Of the nearly 1800 people who did Bushy last week (#999), it looks like 7 of them would've had a PB slower than 59:59 going into event #1000.
