@runningmumof3boys I'll be volunteering as funnel manager at Jesmond Dene the day before GNR - hope you enjoy!

It's always a big turnout in the Dene on GNR weekend due to lots of runners taking the opportunity to grab a J, so it'll be a fantastic atmosphere. It's my favourite volunteer day of the year.

What's the story with the different names on the "call out" buttons on the parkrun events maps? For uni-starting purposes, we're going to be visiting Cardiff for the next 3 years so took a look.

I suspect (but absolutely don't know) that it's an inconsistently applied effort to help narrow down the actual location

So, for example, somebody may ask 'Which Grangemoor Park?' (for all I know there may be many) and be answered with 'The one in Cardiff'
Or 'Where in Cardiff?' - 'Blackweir'

In that part of the world, this theory holds up reasonably well if you zoom out a bit and look at Barry Island and Pontypridd but I'm not going to make any predictions about how well it works anywhere else.

Or maybe Fetch is right as usual
