Newcastle is packed with good parkruns! Drove 3 hours to do Jesmond Dene a few years ago (and pick up son from uni!) only for it to be cancelled due to ice! (Along with all the others that day). But I've run around the route, it is lovely.

I've done Leazes and Rising Sun. Both excellent. For different reasons. Leazes is a stones throw from St James Park!

For a nice one down that way try Blackhill- flat and fast.
It is neither but all others will seem that way after it.

I'd recommend Jesmond Dene. I've also done Town Moor and Rising Sun, on separate visits. I'd say Jesmond was the most scenic, but a tough uphill start.

Hopping on the GNR bandwagon - on Friday night I'm staying near Beamish - what's the best recommended (i.e. closest) for me?
