Only 125 at a soggy, slippery Greenwich today. New Year’s Day this year was 115 and before that was Dec 2018 for a lower attendance.

Numbers were down at Bournemouth today. They all missed out on a lot of fun in the mud and puddles. I notice that Aston Hall was cancelled this morning due to "shortage of volunteers"... I just find it odd that a new run/core team are unable to keep a (minimal) volunteer roster filled regularly such early doors. According to With Me Now, they started without a core team which is probably why they are struggling for volunteers. |

According to With Me Now, they started without a core team which is probably why they are struggling for volunteers. That sort of explains it, but was there any explanation of why there wasn't a core team in place? (I haven't bothered listening to WMN for sometime). Not exactly promising foundations for a sustainable event with so many other established core teams regularly struggling to fill rosters. |

Soggy at Cross Flatts today. And no results yet - there has been a Facebook post saying they had issues and asking for any details of position and time to try and help sort it out

247th Parkrun at University of Stirling earlier, still on course for a Christmas Day 250th at a venue still to be decided. Nice to see SooWoo for a Wordle thread gossip 😂 |

Both Burnham and Cheddar were cancelled due to water issues. Luckily Weston prom doesn’t get too affected so was a bit of a refuge for us

Dillthedog that’s the first time I’ve heard the prom at Weston described as a refuge!

HellsBells indeed! Especially on Prom run nights when it’s cold, dark, wet and windy. Which seems to be most them to be fair

Numbers well down at Fell Foot too - due to a combination of other local events and the continuous rain. Setting up in the almost dark was a particular treat Good news was that the low numbers gave me a top ten finish for the first time in I can't remember how long - less good news was that it was still only enough to be third MV55-59 RD next week so I get a rest |

Pollok parkrun for me, 15th anniversary of parkrun in Scotland, which, disappointingly, they never even mentioned properly. But on the café front, I wonder if the cafe, inside the Burrell Collection, may be the most expensive post parkrun café. I took particular umbrage at the scones, but to prevent this thread possibly becoming overly sconecentric, I've made a new thread. fetcheveryone.com/forum/parkrun-caf-scone-index-62855 And parking, inside the park near the start, is minimum £5 (for four hours). It used to be £1. I'd parked outside, but went in to see the collection. If I'd realised the cost, I probably wouldn't have. (Charges start at 10, so faster than average parkrunners might manage to avoid charges. Discriminatory!) |
