Aston Hall has received comment from a lot of corners for their lack of a core team. How can HQ let a new event launch if they don’t have a substantial team in place? Weird.


Seems bizarre to me.

Seems odd, but maybe they are trying a new model, of placing parkruns where they perceived need. This one seems to have been launched by the Aston Villa Foundation, and looking at FB, involving Goodgym to help out. And sometimes valuable lessons can be learnt from experiments that don't work (although it's maybe too early to say it hasn't worked.)

Holyrood was also different in that aiui it was HQ driven, but they gathered a core team pre launch. Not been yet (a glaring omission, but sometimes I've even forgotten it exists!).

I will return to parkrun tomorrow, volunteering as I am not ready yet for faster running. My last parkrun was back in July and I an on 188 and had hoped to hit 200 on NYD which I did a few years back with my number 100.

Sadly injury has curtailed running since then and although I had great plans to volunteer I havent done so since August for a variety of reasons. Hopefully I do get back and maybe NYD is my target to resume parkrunning

I'll be course-checking at Mile End me tomorrow.
This will be the first time we've used our new course, so I hope I remember to follow the new route instead of the old one :)

RD at Crathes Castle tomorrow. Will need my head torch for setting up 😔. At least it will be dry and not too cold.
