At Guidford they have quite a lot of volunteers and they call out all their names at the start, 32 this week. Lots of applause during the reading.

Anyone done Narin Beach in County Donegal? It looks fantastic, all on sand.

Wow, sounds like the briefings are quite extended.
Do they now start around 0830 to get people running by 0900 ?
Do they change in the cold ?

Corby gives a shout out to the tail walker(s), and pacers when they have them, but that’s all.

We always used to name the volunteers but since lockdown we’ve had a generic thanks unless any of them are celebrating significant milestones (we’ve got a few regulars who are well into the hundreds) or completing DofE volunteering.

If all of our volunteer slots are filled we’d have up to thirty four names to call out which I think is a little excessive time wise at Witney. With the general background chatter that goes on during the briefing many people probably wouldn’t hear or take note of the call outs.
