Congratulations! I'm only going for the basic Penguin, and was worried I might fail at the last moment because we're not at our seaside place much this month and when we were there at the weekend it was far too rough - even the usual very hardy and strong swimmers were absent. But I'm hoping to get a couple of swims in next week at Lake 32 so they'll get me through |

Thank you I've quite enjoyed it but I think gold is my limit. My friend's are doing 3000 a month and really struggling. Especially when sea conditions play up. |

Surely anyone who's seen jaws ain't going to entertain night swims Not been on for a while but still swimming . My Sea swims are mostly just Saturdays at the moment with a couple mates. We do around 1500m to 2k either in Roker Harbour or just outside of it from Roker Beach (Sunderland ) which is a bit more wild at times. Its not something i'd do alone at this time of year as the swells are pretty big at times but we are careful to know where we all are and re-gather every few minites if we drift apart (which we always seem to do) . Have to say, they are often a bit of an adventure just now but i love it. Well I love it once i can get going. I seem to take a few minutes more than my buddies to get my breathing right in the cold to start a good swim . Both of them have much thicker winter suits than me and i'll probalby get one for next year but it seems a bit pointless now we're in the coldest part of the year. Pic is Roker Harbour on a nice calm day a week or so ago. I'm very lucky ot have this on my doorstep . |
