That's good Cas. I missed that. Last time I looked it had been rejected. Will check it out.

Checking in to report a better experience today. Didn't start well: it started to rain just as I left the house and my chain fell off. Then I struggled to lock my bike and the changing room was chock full of women who all knew each other so there was literally nowhere to change. I ended up in the doorway of the pool outside the disabled loo. Got better after that. Warm pool, and wide lanes. Despite the fact that I had booked for the slow lane because it was all that was left I ended up in the fast lane as *shock* I was the fastest swimmer there. Not a high bar, tbh. Plenty of room to go up and down. 20m pool, pretty old, but v clean. Queue for the shower, but I think I will go back. The whole thing is 2 hours, though, for 40mins in the water, so will have to see. 1400m done.

Glad things improved after the more challenging start and you got a good swim. Always nice to be the fast one even when it is only relative! Hope the other pool opens again soon and might be a bit easier for travel and changing (as well as being clean and not crowded).

Not sure I could cope with a 20m pool, I really hate turning. I dream of living near a 50m pool! But well done for persevering and having a nice swim ![]() |

I have managed to split two swim caps in two consecutive visits to the pool this weekend. I always have a spare with me, but two in two days seems very unlucky! I think they were both bought a couple of years ago, so they've served me well.

I think I've only ever split one. I use them on rotation though

I don't like the rubber ones, they squish my ears. I use fabric ones instead but they won't keep your hair dry.

I am not sure how good the silicone or latex ones are at keeping your hair dry anyway, that's not their primary purpose - mine is there to stop my hair getting in my face. I wet my hair in the shower before I put my cap on, I have fine hair and that helps it 'stick' to my head. |

I've got short hair so I've never been fussed about keeping it dry. I'm sure some of the ladies in my pool manage it though or maybe they're all doing heads-up breaststroke ![]() |
