Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Congrats Mother T!!

Today I had a wee solo dip at Findhorn - only a short swim-around. Lovely day though, so warmed up nicely afterwards. I have a Rapanui towelling dry robe and I went for a little walk in it to dry off after slipping off my cozzy. Had a chat with someone on the beach who recommended a quiet sandy beach close by through a forest path, where she’s sometimes in with seals.

Nice. I've been in the lake today. 11.7 deg. Hat and boots, no gloves (wetsuit). Took me a long time to get warm but I was doing chatty breaststroking for part of it.

Ooh that sounds exciting Scribbler. There’s a portable sauna in Findhorn. I think it’s about £15 a time tho’.

Well done , that sounds a fab adventure .

Mother T wrote:I just swam from under the Golden Gate Bridge to Alcatraz. 5k swim in 49 minutes…I mean the current is pretty epic! And it was amazing to share this with Porpoises, Seals, Sea Lions and big arse container ships too! Also, the location is utterly epic. The water was around 14 degrees about half of what it was in Hawai’i. There is a 21 mile swim from outside to inside the bay here. I feel another trip incoming back to San Fran. The water is my extreme happy place, and safely done with the Pacific Open Water Swim Co.

I’ll report back. I know of one at Cullercoats and King Edward’s Bay here @flip. I believe there are others further up the coast too. I’ll be dipping at King Eddie’s

There didn't seem to be a thread devoted to open water swimming, so I thought I'd start one.
