Congrats Mother T!! Today I had a wee solo dip at Findhorn - only a short swim-around. Lovely day though, so warmed up nicely afterwards. I have a Rapanui towelling dry robe and I went for a little walk in it to dry off after slipping off my cozzy. Had a chat with someone on the beach who recommended a quiet sandy beach close by through a forest path, where she’s sometimes in with seals. |

Nice. I've been in the lake today. 11.7 deg. Hat and boots, no gloves (wetsuit). Took me a long time to get warm but I was doing chatty breaststroking for part of it.

Ooh that sounds exciting Scribbler. There’s a portable sauna in Findhorn. I think it’s about £15 a time tho’.

Well done , that sounds a fab adventure . Mother T wrote:
I just swam from under the Golden Gate Bridge to Alcatraz. 5k swim in 49 minutes…I mean the current is pretty epic! And it was amazing to share this with Porpoises, Seals, Sea Lions and big arse container ships too! Also, the location is utterly epic. The water was around 14 degrees about half of what it was in Hawai’i. There is a 21 mile swim from outside to inside the bay here. I feel another trip incoming back to San Fran. The water is my extreme happy place, and safely done with the Pacific Open Water Swim Co. |

I’ll report back. I know of one at Cullercoats and King Edward’s Bay here @flip. I believe there are others further up the coast too. I’ll be dipping at King Eddie’s
