I decided a little while ago to buy a second dryrobe-alike, because I swim in cold water in both Devon and Gloucestershire and it's easier to have one in each location rather than remembering to take it with me each time I swap from one to the other.
I looked online but the cost put me off what was after all a bit of an indulgence.
Wandered into Mountain Warehouse today. Their fleece lined changing robes are reduced to £54.99! They seemed to only have plain black in my size which was a shame as they also do a nice bright blue. Never mind, I'll buy the black. At the till I asked 'I don't suppose you have the blue in this size out the back?'

They did :-) I'm really pleased with my bargain and will be using it tomorrow 🤞

Last time I looked, Sportsshoes also had some outdoor dressing gowns on sale. Was thinking of getting one for my son's birthday but it seems I had the same bright idea this time last year ☺️

There are quite a few online with a towelling lining but I wanted a cosy borg fleece lining.
Which I was very grateful for this morning. The sea temperature is perfect - a little chilly to start but then very comfortable in skins. However the breeze has a distinctly northerly nip to it and I was glad to get zipped up after my dip!

Red Squirrel wrote:Well, I’ve moved to just outside Elgin and so I cycled to Roseisle today for a swim. Bliss. Sunshine, quiet roads, forest trails and fine sand. Went to take a pic but remembered I’d not got my phone on me. The wispy clouds were beautiful. Roseisle’s shallow for a fair way out and I just swam parallel to the shore. Cozzy under my cycling gear and then cycling gear over damp cozzy for ride home. Dry within about 5 mins of cycling. I’ve got a feeling there’s a Roseisle swimming group, so will ask around.

I hardly remember Elgin when we lived at Kinloss as a kid but doremember swimmig in Findhorn Bay . I was probablyy only about 7 years old. I must go back .

Findhorn’s so lovely @flip . There’s a fab bakery which does lovely soup and tons of other stuff; to refuel after your swim.

Roseisle again today. Lovely cycle in the sunshine to my swim and I’m sat here after coffee, chips and packed lunch at the food truck. Bliss.

There didn't seem to be a thread devoted to open water swimming, so I thought I'd start one.
