A friend travelled to Bude today but was surprised at the strong undertow there. Maybe that's why they have a tidal pool?

I just swam from under the Golden Gate Bridge to Alcatraz. 5k swim in 49 minutes…I mean the current is pretty epic! And it was amazing to share this with Porpoises, Seals, Sea Lions and big arse container ships too!

Also, the location is utterly epic. The water was around 14 degrees about half of what it was in Hawai’i.

There is a 21 mile swim from outside to inside the bay here. I feel another trip incoming back to San Fran.

The water is my extreme happy place, and safely done with the Pacific Open Water Swim Co.

Huge congratulations! A friend did the Alcatraz swim some years ago and said it was the most memorable swim out of a lot of swimming adventures :-)
