I think my Garmin is trying to kill me.
(I have my hr zones set on it)
First event is a local 50K on 10th June, this is not priority 1
Says in ‘base’ phase
This weeks runs:
Today - rest
Tomorrow VO2max, 4x4min @9:35
Tues recovery, 30 mins @14:45
Weds - Anaerobic, 7x 1 min @9:05
Thurs - long run 2hrs 14 @12:55
Friday - base, 40 min @12:55
Sat - base, 1hr 7 min @12:55

Tempted to change emphasis to heart rate and give it a go, but wouldn’t hit those paces.

HR might work better if your max is accurate. I think pace suggestions are based on the race predictions so if they are out of line, the pace will be as well.

Stayed up to watch basketball yesterday so got poor sleep (and it felt like it) and recovery delayed by poor sleep as well. Tempted to stay up and watch the super bowl tonight but maybe I need to try and get some sleep beforehand although I struggle to sleep outside normal range these days.

Played around with long run days setting. Previously had it as Wednesday/ Saturday and it had a 1:21 long run suggested for Wednesday. Changed it to Saturday/ Sunday and the Wednesday run became a 1:15 base run, lol. Then changed it to Monday/ Saturday and tomorrow is now the 1:21 long run. That would be about the what I was thinking of doing depending on how I feel (10 miles or more). The week suggestions is interesting as well as it's base apart from a sprint session on Tuesday. I am planning track on Thursday (10 x 400, 1 min rec) and may do a different sprint session to the one the app recommends on Tuesday depending on how the legs feel (thinking 5 x 10 secs + 2-3 X 20 sec hill sprints).

Finished my race yesterday
49 hrs recovery
Long drive home
By the time I went to bed 46 hrs recovery delayed
This morning 36 hrs delayed due to poor sleep
I'm tired yes
No stiffness
And I did have a shocking sleep so well done!
I still got a recovery run or a reluctant rest day was offered
BB just got to 50
I'm taking the rest day with a short walk at lunch!

Just checked my current Garmin status...

BB currently 73/100 [was up to 100 before my morning tempo run]
Sleep Score 92 (excellent)
RHR 46
Load optimal

Today's training suggestion was "threshold 25:00 @ 8:15/mi 45:00" I did do a tempo run, just not that fast!

Readiness - moderate, recovered and ready (I’d better get out there then)
HRV balanced
Maintaining, low aerobic overage
BB 81
SS 82 Good (it think it mistakes lying still, but awake for sleeping)

Todays suggestion is still the intervals ^, going to do the 5x3 min that are on my plan and see what pace results.

HRV back to Balanced. Sleep parameters fine, Body Battery 79 and I can be as active as I want. The watch's recommendation for today has changed to Rest. The rest of the week's recommendations have changed too, and I have 90 minutes runs suggested for Saturday and Sunday. It knows about the marathon, I'm surprised it hasn't bothered me to do any proper long runs yet.

Maybe Garmin thinks the long run is overrated Vrap, lol.

My HRV is also back in balance and my baseline is now 43-55. 47 for last night, which is the lowest I've seen in a week, possibly down to sleeping earlier. Sleep was 72 and at 6:58, only slightly shorter than recommended.

I decided to record the Super bowl and watch in the morning which was a good decision.

Today's suggestion has stayed as a long run and everything else has stayed the same. Next Sunday's suggestion is an anaerobic session of 7 x 1 min with 3 mins rec. My actual Sunday schedule will be rest or possibly long/ base depending on what I do on Saturday.

About This Thread

Maintained by EvilPixie
According to my Garmin this morning my body battery was at just 41 and I was "strained"
I have been strained for most days in the last 2 weeks
My body battery has also been low

So today it suggested a threshold run of up to an hour!

What's your Garmin say?
