One thing that has confused me. If you put a race in your schedule via Garmin Connect, do the training suggestions change in the run up to the race? It didn't for me in the run up to the Warwick Half so I was wondering if I put the details in to my profile wrongly in some way.

My Garmin told me a couple of weeks ago it was going to be building up my mileage for London. I'm assuming the recurrent 48min at 10.20mm is in response to the fact that I'm doing longer sessions on my own terms without waiting for it to tell me.

Ah. I've put my next race in but maybe it's too close to the date to make adjustments.

Depends on the model Ness My fenix 6 is apparently too old! So I can't add the race widget and the suggestions don't reflect the races |

I got a 255 a few weeks ago and it changes the race based suggestions depending on what I’ve done (because sometimes I ignore it). Quite impressed honestly

About sleep, Garmin didn't like the interruptions, told me that I wouldn't feel very rested today. I didn't mind those at all, fell asleep again without problem. I slept nearly 9 hours which is a lot for me and I feel very rested. I think Garmin doesn't take into account that the older we get, the more likely we are to wake up at night because the sleep tends to be a bit lighter and we may need to go to the loo. You can still get a decent night of sleep even with that. So I agree, V'rap, I don't buy into Garmin's rating 100% and trust the subjective feel. BB up to 92, RHR 44, all normal. Base training 44 minutes, now at 9:15 which is more accurate. I think Garmin finally understood that 9:00 pace is going to take me well over 145 bpm which not an easy run anymore. 9:15-9:30 is what I can run at 140-145. So it's finally learning 😁 Also, I agree with Rosehip, Garmin suggests odd numbers for running. I always get 39 or 44 minutes, why not 40 or 45? |

Garmin is happy enough, though thinks I need to sleep better. Which is quite correct about. (Yesterday, it thought I went swimming a couple of times whilst at work. I didn't.) |

I can tell you that, SPR Following another run today (and 61 miles in the past 7 days, 46 of which my Garmin has dumped in the Tempo bucket): Sunday: Rest day. Monday: 48 minutes Base at 10.20mm. Tuesday: 51 minutes including 8 x 40s at 6.20mm. Wednesday: 37 minutes Recovery at 11.45mm. Thursday: 75 minutes Base at 10.20mm. Friday: 75 minutes Base at 10.20mm. I did 8 efforts of approximately 100m during parkrun today in the hope that it would help address my anaerobic deficit. It didn't. |

Lol @ anaerobic failure Velociraptor. Interesting that there's nothing particularly long in there although presume you have the weekend programmed in for long days? After today's XC race, I have low aerobic shortage. |
