I don't think I have training readiness on the 255, but it doesn't matter. What am I going to do, not train?

It seems a little oversensitive about HRV. My measurements over the past 4wks have varied from 54 to 61, which I'd classify as being all in the same ball park, but today it's telling me that 56 is "lower than usual".

My old PT said if you paid any attention to the Garmin recovery time you'd never train!

It's a guide but it can be a little over cautious .

Mine is still on 44hrs and I rode this morning am racing again Saturday and Sunday so it will love me Sunday night and yet by the Tuesday I'll be repping again.

Apparently, I got through the entire day yesterday with a body battery of just 5/100.

Mine suggests base: 36 minutes @ 7:25 km

Daily average stress is 19 today (it dipped to currently 5 just there) and body battery is 78 (today's max: 87).

7-day training load is 467, optimal and productive, and I am fully recovered.

Mind you, it also says my VO2 max is 41 (Fetch figure is more like 23) and predicts a 5K time of 27:45, which is about three minutes below an optimistic max in ideal conditions.

Could be worse, this morning my speak-your-weight scales shouted "One at a time, please"!

Garmins are great at measuring stuff they can directly measure but the modelling and prediction they do is a load of nonsense.

Mine told me I did 519W average for 39 mins in my most recent 10k. Did I bollocks. Might have been 300W give or take a bit.

(FR255 which is really great for the data, optical HRM is streets ahead of previous models, battery life is amazing, connectivity is robust, smart watch features are good too.)

Remember recovery time is the time until the next hard effort, not until you can train again.

My ongoing lurgy has started my day with a body battery of 36 for the last 10 days and thinks that the only time I wasn't under stress in the last 24 hours was between 5 and 6am this morning. My resting HR is always higher when I have lurgy so I'm assuming that's what's driving this information. On the plus side, it's stopped me feeling like I'm failing by not exercising, and has encouraged me to recognise that I might not be well and should probably exercise some self care/rest/hydration etc.

About This Thread

Maintained by EvilPixie
According to my Garmin this morning my body battery was at just 41 and I was "strained"
I have been strained for most days in the last 2 weeks
My body battery has also been low

So today it suggested a threshold run of up to an hour!

What's your Garmin say?
