I looked at Eurotunnel yesterday Mandy and currently you can't go unless you meet one of the French government's reasons for travel which doesn't include hols. Hopefully that will change before you go.

um
I went into town today (Salisbury) - the first time walking around, since lockdown. Surprised at how empty it still is. Carparks empty. No queuing traffic (except McD's on the way home)
Shopping?

Sainsburys - no queue but a 'door guard' and sanitised trolleys. Fairly empty inside.
Boots - separation of the pharmacy section from the main shop. Queue for pharmacy, no enforced controls for the rest of the shop. But also fairly empty & non-threatening.
Cathedral - building closed, but grounds and sculptures open.

Most people seemed to be actively maintaining separation distances & considerate of others.

But not sure I'm ready to go holiday yet - whether the travel or reliance on food/shopping etc.

We've got annual leave booked for the first two full weeks in July and I'll be booking a cottage if we get word that self-catering establishments will be permitted to open by then.

Non-runner
Going back to jda’s comment about certain people/protesters/party people “taking one for the team”, maybe there is room to open up the odd pub or restaurant on “pre-lockdown” terms, with wholly volunteer staff, just to see what might happen? Might be a bit radical but if strictly sanctioned and monitored, e.g. attendees sign a contact sheet and disclaimer and undertake to isolate if infected etc, could be a useful experiment in terms of spread etc? How else would we know where this weird virus is taking us? PS I have had a few drinks this evening so might not agree with myself tomorrow morning!

Cottage booked in July here too - can't wait and mum is "bubbling" with us rather than my sister as she's desperate for a break and some better views
