Scotland is obviously moving forward slower than England with easing lockdown.

I know that every relaxation carries an element of risk.

But it is risk that we must face head-on sooner or later - what we have now isn't 'living'.

I look forward to each easement. No anxiety whatsoever. Just excited at the thought of a drink in a beer garden. Or a coffee and bacon roll in a cafe. Or a shopping trip. Simple things. But, for me and many others, so important.

NR, I have seen it seriously suggested that lockdown should be ended for the under 40s or maybe 50s (apart from the particularly vulnerable), if they all got it the death toll would be negligible and then we'd be close to herd immunity. This was sort of the govt's original plan, only they never actually implemented anything close to it.

The real challenge would be in segregating the under from over while it plays out. But it would all have been over by now if they'd done it.

You could even offer the u-40s a bonus payment for getting infected, and a large insurance payout for their families if they were unlucky enough to have serious consequences. It would be far cheaper, quicker, and safer than what is happening now.

Um not like that down here.

Today going to work there was already a queue outside main entrance to go in main shopping centre.
Only 4 shops are open ATM

At least no one said anything when I went to the front to start work

For me things that seemed vital to me like a cup of tea when out for the afternoon or going shopping for not much but having lunch while there appear to have lost their importance. The only thing that I would love is to be able to plan where to go for our leave in September. We had intended to take our daughter for her final parentally funded holiday as we last went away with her in 2014 when she was 16.

we were supposed to be going to Switzerland on 4 July for 2 weeks, we cancelled the accommodation and car hire in May and last week BA finally cancelled the flights. We have had refunds for eve, urything. If the flights hadn't been cancelled we wouldn't have gone - I just don't think I would have felt safe or comfortable on the journey.

We aren't looking at booking anything else this year, not even in the UK. It just feels too unpredictable. And although we tend to just like walking in empty countryside where we don't normally see anyone, part of the fun of going on holiday is cafe stops, lunch out, even if cafes open I don't know if I will feel safe.

We have friends in Wales who have some holiday cottages. They've said we can use one in late July/early August, but it all depends on the border opening, of course.

I think I’ll remain a bit anxious till the next course of hospital treatment is over. And then I’ll be ready to re-enter the fray. C9 is quietly looking forward to sleepovers and shopping and I hope by September we’ll be there

I don't think there is any reasonable possibility that it will be "over" by September. How could that happen? It might be reasonably well controlled if we remain significantly socially distant. That seems to be the best we can possibly hope for.
