Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Hope you're feeling better now @Shades. I agree that the Shingles thing seems odd. I have now turned 70, so have had my first vaccination.

Thank you @forest plodder this bout of Covid was pretty awful but today I'm back out for a little run/walk.

Another 2 years for my shingles vaccination, however so far I've never had shingles.

Just looked to book for mine, they all start on the 4th which is the day I go away so they'll have to wait.

I still think that's not a logical or sensible approach to introducing the shingles vaccine to over 65's.

I experienced similar with poo sticks - I had my first one at 58, but if I'd been a year younger, I'd have had it at 56.

In other news, I received my invitation to book my C19 & flu vaccinations today ("only" 60, but immunosuppressed)

I've got my flu and Covid jab next Saturday. Still not quite recovered from 2nd bout of Covid in 2 months.

Hopefully I shall have ample antibodies to see me through the winter. 🤣

After feeling a bit off on Tuesday night, sore throat and iffy yesterday, I've tested positive. Tbf, it's probably what OH had recently, mixed with a ladies day at the weekend.

Mr J
Had flu jab.
I do think that I have a lower immune system since Covid. Get ill quicker and longer to recover.
