Che dragon Felt good the last few days and this morning. Started, aiming at 4.20 ks, but did the first 5 in 4.10s. Slowed a bit and found 7-8 hard. Picked it up for the last 2 and kept going past people. 1.5 mnute pb and feeling good!

Grid Fastest 10K this year, second fastest 10K time, only second time inside 60 minutes. Probably the hottest conditions I'll ever race in, or so it felt. Strong, warm sunshine and an exposed (albeit blissfully flat) course made for challenging conditions. What a great race though. I'll definitely be doing it next year.

grumpyconnemara should be OK, I hope ... though at that stage in marathon training I may well not be running this one all that fast ...
UPDATE: slower than I wanted, but it will do! Wednesday's long run was still in the legs and I couldn't get going until about 4k in, but still squeaked under the hour, so, for this year, that will do me.

HD First race since February. Haven't touched my running trainers for 6 months, and have given myself 4 weeks to get in shape to get around this course...?!?!

Hopefully this will be the start of my training for FLM

Midpack I'm hoping for sub 39 here, but I'm not 100% confident on this. - Just didn't have it today, disappointing.

Sime Was very warm, 4.05's for the first 2 km then slowed a little bit as I thought I was going too quick, struggled from about 6-8km's, then picked it up from 8 to the finish. Haven't done that much trianing over the last few months but still managed a PB by 21 seconds.

smash Made a mess of this race again! Ran with Broeinon for the first 6k or so, but then started to really struggle, so let her go on and stopped to walk for a bit. The first 4k we were on 55min pace, but it all started to go badly after the turn. Only walked for about 400m altogether, and ran the last 2k, but I'm still disappointed in it, and I'm convinced that I can go faster. More training required I think. It was a nice day out though.

The running poet I decided to take it gently as I have had trouble with my right calf for the last three to four weeks. My calf was fine until about 27 minutes and then it felt tight all the way to the finish. However, it was great to be part of the sunny atmosphere and the feel-good factor on the day and at least I finished.
