.B. Aug 2023 2:26pm, 19 Aug 2023 46,610 posts	0 .B. Copied from my log. After 2 hard days and feeling sore I decided on an easy one at parkrun today. Then after a good WU and being on the start and knowing I’d struggle to fit in the virtual mile I decided to see if I could do a fast first mile and then run walk it in. Happy with 8.21 (strong tailwind, no plates, slight hold up at start) Then walked till HR down and ran easy/ walked back. Going on holiday so pleased to get this done. July was 8.52, so getting nearer where I was earlier this year.

It's not easy pacing a mile race whether it's virtual or real, be it on track, road, grass or trail. Go out too hard initially and struggle towards the end, go out too soft and regret your finish time.
