Our track 'mile' is apparently long at 1.05 miles. I ran 7:06 at 6:46 pace. Great fun and a privelege to spend time with some terrific runners including Callum who did 4:40 and Peter who is well over 60 and got round nicely rocking a set of replacement knees

Night-owl unfortunately not. I'd have to travel a couple of miles to get somewhere uninterrupted. The only close alternative are trails which are currently very slubby and therefore unsuitable for running.

Well done DT.

I'm pleased I'm able to run on quiet back roads. Near Cambridge there's no such thing :-(

Awesome, I'm in for the rest of the year. I've logged this morning's rest day 2km time as my March effort, but I'll do a "proper" attempt in April and after.

From this, i've also just found the Benchmarks page. That's useful isn't it! So much to explore on FE!

The more the merrier ptr_runner welcome. There is so much stuff tucked away it's like a rabbit warren, you could pass hours on here but forget what you found and where you found it.

Just found this so will start properly in April. Got a half marathon on Sunday and a marathon on 23 April so will probably use fastest mile from them.
Will use a fastest mile in March for this month.

Just used benchmark’s and my quickest mile in March was 6:32 as part of a 12 minute fast finish run (basically a tempo run at the end of a run)

About This Thread

Maintained by Fenland Flier
For encouragement and general chat about the virtual mile challenges.

It's not easy pacing a mile race whether it's virtual or real, be it on track, road, grass or trail. Go out too hard initially and struggle towards the end, go out too soft and regret your finish time.

Use this thread to record your jubilation or allow us to commiserate with you.
