I've planned my Day 28 now, another glute workout. I'm really glad I went through the video as well as her notes beforehand as it's not that clear just from the notes. I know a bit of extra time is involved - but it's sitting down time! And well worth it as you can then concentrate on the exercises not worrying about what's next, how to do it and for how long.

The first few days - if I remember correctly - are more straightforward, supersets come in later.

I absolutely love CG and glad I mention it on a thread or two and we now have a fetch following. Great idea to have a thread sharkie!

I got introduced to Caroline by my running coach, I only do one or two sessions a week (although I’ve got a CG double day next week 😬) and I really look forward to my strength session - something nothing else I’ve done has done. I think it’s that it’s targeted session and weight’s not the typical all over HIIT session.

So I’m towards the end of Iron Series after flipping ages (due to being poorly a couple of times this year) but I’m really hoping she gives me Iron again although from asking for recommendations for Pam runs I suspect I’ll be switched to Epic

As for weights a lot of years ago I invested in bowflex adjustable weights they are excellent although bulky. It allows me to switch weight for different exercises

I also have a 20kg bag which I use for RDLs, for other single heavy weight I will just use the bowflex.

I would like to get myself a set of 10/12 as I could use them for some of the set and drop back but again waiting to see what I can get on marketplace and if I can ever get the garage cleared I would invest in a rack

Oh and does anyone else stay and wave to Caroline at the end 🤣

On yoga I follow Yoga With Mark, he does the yoga part of the yoga for runners retreats I’ve done.

He does online classes (payable) but has some free sessions on his you tube, he sometimes does a 30 days of yoga I have paid for so not sure if they are on open access

I like his yoga it’s very mindfulness based and is aimed a lot towards runners.

His voice…. If I do a late session before bed I sleep like a log!

Hi geordiebells excellent post! Really good to hear that your running coach (who sounds great) introduced you to Caroline G. I'm convinced that 'you' are one strong lady, always sounds like you've got a fitness plan that works for you and your goals.

When you mentioned the Iron series I looked on her channel and it seemed to be the most recent so I thought it might be 'best'. Also the just DBs and the 30 minutes all told really sold it to me.

I do quite a lot of other stuff so am pleased be fitting in at least three sessions a week. It's that JUST-half-an-hour I keep harking back to. If I can stick at it anyone can!

I'm hoping that last line works for me too!

I have a love hate relationship with strength work

I know I need to do it but I prefer running!!

Raptors claws are coming to town said a while ago ...

running is fun
strength is for life

very true too

Re yoga - I enjoy yoga but again hardly ever do it, but I don't know why I don't
I am hoping that my new life will allow me to do more of these things

I’ll try again on the video.

I used to do Julia Buckley workouts and I do love her sessions too and also mostly 30-40min (all subscribed and while only £10 a month) but I just didn’t commit it was great if a group of us was doing it daily but with running it’s too much.

Karen gave me CG and instantly loved it. I feel like I’ve worked hard but it is only 1/2hr. The last arms one I did (day 27) I loved it it flew by.

and it’s Karen who has given me a great training plan, yes it’s expensive but I like not having to think about what to do and she takes my crazy life and works around it. And she’s an amazing runner (her preference is backyards) Karen Nichol, she has Wildheart Runners with Debbie Martin Consarni who I believe gave Karen the what I needed to do for my desert adventure ❤️🐪

About This Thread

Caroline Girvan - tiny but tough, sweet but strong.

Here's a thread rather in the manner of the Shred craze that swept Fetchland some years ago, or perhaps more recently (and less bossily) Adriene's 30 Days of Yoga each year. I found Caroline Girvan via geordiegirl (ta, GG!) and am well impressed with her workouts. I'm currently on Day 27 of her 30 day Iron Series and have STUCK TO IT. Wonders will never cease, I was beginning to despair of the likelihood of me getting any sort...
