CasB I've had to check quite a few of the presses beforehand too. Am desperate to target my old lady triceps and some the moves are quite specific. As I'm still having problems with push ups I want to get the presses and overhead stuff as close to perfect as poss.

Red Squirrel Glad it's working for you. Was it the dreaded Day One DOMS?

I've rethought a bit now I'm onto week four again. I deffo need more recovery if I want to progress and my dance classes are more demanding than you might expect

(We were all dripping with sweat in BALLET yesterday!)

Have swapped round Days 19 and 20 so I 'just' have arms and core today before another full class tonight (Contemporary and the teacher often throws in a few planks, balances and almost-handstands with added jumps)

Will have another rest dat tomorrow so I can attack Day 19 full body with, er, attack.

Back on it today but I started at day 2 because I really didn't want the day 1 DOMS! And it's a Tuesday, which coincides nicely with day 2 on her suggested program carolinegirvan.com

I'm going to follow that now apart from a few days when I'm away from dumbbells.

Dying…. My plan said 45min day 3 but I had done day 3 on Sunday so did day 4 which was an hour of killer moves but I found it a good session.

Used 4kg dumbbells could probably have managed 5kgs, I was a sweaty mess but chuffed I did it.

Found it it’s 5* and I can have premium insurance (better pay outs if needed) and still £160 less than AA!

I suspect you’re right v-rap but last year they were comparable when I searched and still £140 more than what I can get from aviva this year!

Iron day 11

4kg goblet squats
Body weight lunges

Couldn’t complete body weight curtesy lunges - did just over half
Calves started with 4kg x 2 but couldn’t complete last set
Finisher couldn’t complete

Definitely getting stronger because at the start I couldn’t even do a goblet squat with just body weight.

About This Thread

Maintained by Sharkie
Caroline Girvan - tiny but tough, sweet but strong.

Here's a thread rather in the manner of the Shred craze that swept Fetchland some years ago, or perhaps more recently (and less bossily) Adriene's 30 Days of Yoga each year. I found Caroline Girvan via geordiegirl (ta, GG!) and am well impressed with her workouts. I'm currently on Day 27 of her 30 day Iron Series and have STUCK TO IT. Wonders will never cease, I was beginning to despair of the likelihood of me getting any sort...
