Sharkie I only use 4kg weights for most moves. I could probably push a bit higher for some but I'm concentrating more on form.

Ok, thanks - that's useful. FUEL looks tough in a tiring sort of way! Only 30 secnds per exercise ... but then straight into the next one. So that's two minutes of action before you get a break!

Here's an example:

'The timer will be on for a majority of the workout 30 seconds per exercise, with 4 movements performed with no specific rest! Each 4 movements together essentially form a giant set and these are not random movements rather programmed to flow from one to another with many targeting the same muscles!

The dumbbells I am using for your reference are 2 x 15 kg and 2 x 12.5 kg each.

2 x 15kg

X3 (ie 3 sets - only rest is between sets)
HIGH SQUAT
ALT REAR LUNGE
BODYWEIGHT ONLY!
SPRAWL!

Sharkie ha ha. Yeah that was it. 30sec does go quick and as you switch to different moves it doesn't feel like 2 Min of continuous exercise. Saying that the break after 2min is very welcome.

Just had a quick flick through of day 2 and that looks like a lot of press ups. Could be very interesting. 😲😲

Day 2 of fuel completed. There was a lot of press ups which I wasn't very good at but I did my best and really enjoyed it.

Digging around the internet it appears nearly all of CG's workout plans involve a cardio and or HIIT element... apart from Iron, which is the most strength based.

That suits me as I get high intensity stuff from sprinting and dancing. And I walk quite a bit too.

Am back on it today after an extra day's rest. Second go at Day 16. I upped the weights to 2x 6kgs on the RDLs and to 10kg on the hip thrusts but kept to the same single 8kg KB on the unilateral exercises.

There are also quite a few body weight single leg hip thrusts in this one. They were just as tiring as last time!

I've decided to take a few more days off. Sunday I was really wiped out and I have a busy week with family and work stuff - so potentially I might take a full week before I attempt the next Iron session.

About This Thread

Maintained by Sharkie
Caroline Girvan - tiny but tough, sweet but strong.

Here's a thread rather in the manner of the Shred craze that swept Fetchland some years ago, or perhaps more recently (and less bossily) Adriene's 30 Days of Yoga each year. I found Caroline Girvan via geordiegirl (ta, GG!) and am well impressed with her workouts. I'm currently on Day 27 of her 30 day Iron Series and have STUCK TO IT. Wonders will never cease, I was beginning to despair of the likelihood of me getting any sort...
