I’m sure they are Sharkie I’ve been amazed by how weak my legs seem to be compared with my arms doing Iron. I can use weights for the arm exercises but a lot of this leg stuff I can only manage with body weight. But I probably shouldn’t be surprised having spent to much time sofa bound between late 2021 and 2023. Prior to covid I had a lot of trouble with my back so I’m sure strengthening my whole body has to be the way forward to get back to running without that becoming an issue again. |

I had an hour and a half very energetic Contemporary dance class at 9am -lots of floor work, travelling and jumping. Then headed up to Parliament Fields here in London to help my club out with the B string throws at their southern Athletics League match. Shot, jav and discus. It was the heavy 4kg shot today as this was a normal senior match not Vets. (I usually throw 3kg, once you are 50 you do) My PB with the 4 is 4.83 metres back in 2019, five years ago, five years younger and today my best was 4.77. 'Really nice series,' said my friend Mfanwy, 'All this dancing is make you strong and balanced!' Well it's certainly not throws training! But I think Caroline has something to do with it too! |

And by the way that's why I need a cut back/stay the same week! You're not supposed to do heavy weights sessions before athletics comps! I was pretty pleased with the 4.77 shot put. It's a big old thing! (Nearly wrote, 'Bit like me!' But remembered I might be an old thing but doubt anyone would describe me as big. Scraggy up top with 'strong' sprinters pins perhaps!) |

I was hoping to do day 10 today but after yesterday’s run and this morning’s swim I’m exhausted. I went for an afternoon nap instead. Sometimes you just have to listen to your body.

Definitely! I did a bit of extra training yesterday and after my run this morning I felt quite tired. Have done nothing this afternoon.

Perfect thinking, Elsie. Weights, run, swim - you're really getting there. Am going to follow your example I think and NOT start the week with Day 16 tomorrow. I've just completed the third week with Day 15, but even with lighter or the same DBs as a month ago I can tell I'm tired and my right arm is moaning. Chucking metal objects is hard work - so it wasn't exactly a rest yesterday. |

Yesterday was definitely not a rest day for you Sharkie We all need to listen to our bodies, last thing any of us wants is to push through and end up breaking ourselves. |

Pam runs
I was going to repeat iron again but have decided to give fuel a try. It's only 30 days which is the same length. Day 1 completed and I enjoyed it. Obviously my weights are nothing like Caroline's but I was closer to doing the moves at the same time unlike epic heat where I was always playing catch up. Looking forward to day 2. 😁

You continue to be our go-to guinea pig for trying all the progs on offer Pam runs ... not the you are remotely pig like in any description I hasten to add! Must check out Fuel. What weights do you use? (might be helpful to others) |
