Congrats PB and lol at legs always hurt. Larkim - Do the other parents run at all? What difference would it make points wise if you just did one at full effort? |

A few are casual runners who could certainly make up the numbers in a 3k with 4 scoring positions. My wife ran 16m+ and 7m50 for 1500m last time so we're setting an example that you don't need to be quick to run! If there are 6 clubs attending, I think the points go 24-19 for the first A runner (so min score for me will be 19 no matter whether I'm dead last or not), 18-13 for B runner etc. Works well for the kids as you can encourage them that even if they are not a specialist (especially in field events) you still score good points just for taking part. |

Great time Pb. Sounds like you've already had a great season. Enjoy the pain Gobi. Not sure you've had enough this year! Nothing to report here! |

Larkim - I like that scoring system actually, as you say it gives big rewards for giving it a go vs having no one. I'm a fan of giving it a go in terms of doing your best (no matter how fast or slow, you can only improve by doing), not so much of jogging round. |

It's all relative - I wasn't planning on heading around the track in 13/14 minutes, just not going all eyeballs out. I only attend 4 track meetings a year, so its a shame not to at least participate in the 3000m, and it's always scheduled as the first track event so I don't get a chance to entirely save myself for the 8 or 15 later.

Hey guys and girls, I tend to hang out on the 2.45 marathon thread, but thought I'd pop in here and see if anyone was interested in the below: Entries for our MK5000 PB Special on Saturday 11 August are now open! We're a group of club runners from MK just trying to give fellow club runners an opportunity to run fast and push their limits www.facebook.com/MK5000PBSpecial or twitter/insta @5000PBSpecial Entry portal: entries.opentrack.run |
