Sub 6min/mile still doesn't feel much of a notch down in intensity as a prospect! But it's at least another round number target in the right ballpark that I'll keep an eye out for. In my usual sandbagging way, I'd be happy enough to get a sub 31 on the cards first!

57.5 Degrees of Pain
I finally cracked the 18 minute mark for the second time ever at parkrun, and had a nice battle for the 'first finish'. Not bad for one week of focusing on 5k training. Given that my 5k times have always been soft in comparison to 10k and Half, probably just need to focus on hurting myself a bit more to maintain the improvement.

I do finally have motivation to do proper sessions, especially if the weather is a gorgeous as tonight.

First run following Faster Road Racing 5k plan tonight with a view to seeing how many (if any!) seconds I can shave off the 18:14 I ran at Kingsley last month. I don't feel I'm a shoe in for sub 18 bit it's something to keep me interested over the summer!

Good work 57.5.

I won't call you a sandbagger for that one Larkim but with consistent training I think sub 18 is yours.

Thanks SPR!

I was coming off running 18.17 the previous week larkim, 21 extra seconds came from no wind, good competition, and digging a bit deeper this week. Unless 18.14 was downhill with a tailwind you can find some more seconds I'm sure.

His 18:14 was downhill ;-)

I'm sure he'll find the necessary seconds anyway though!

Well done 57.5, NN

Only downhill a tiny bit! But at least I get to use the same course again, otherwise I don't think I'd even consider it!
