Good luck all luck Since my November post, I've another two official sub 30s, and an unofficial one (37s to cross line!). Five course bests recorded.

Last week I had my third highest finish position in 454 runs! 28th. And was first in my age cat.

Mind you, there were only 43 finishers and I was the only one in my age category. And ran a slower pace than in my 10K the preceding week.

parkrun didn’t quite go to plan today. It was quite congested at the start so I decided to concentrate on my 10K Garmin training plan which gave today’s run as 1 mile easy & 1 mile hard. Got to the end of mile 2 and decided to use mile 3 as a recovery run/walk.
Garmin time 32:39 but course only measured 3.09 miles. Official time 32:53.
Still happy that it’s under 33 minutes and all my miles started with a 10.

Well done @lin50.

GPS is not a gold standard - measuring 3.09 miles does not mean it is 3.09 miles. I always change my parkrun entries to 5km unless I've a cast-iron reason to know otherwise.

Managed 30:19 at Castle Park today. Although flat it didn't feel easy on the grass. Distance came up as 5.05k on strava and Fetch converted my 5k benchmark for this year to exactly 30:00. Running same parkrun in a couple of weeks time. Well done everyone. On we go!

Popping into this thread to cheer you all on as I’ve just decided this is my goal too. I’ve got a long way to go, but I’m not in a hurry. Which, come to think of it, sums up my whole problem…!
