No.12
i hope to walk a parkrun this weekend which will be an unusual experience and I suspect, for me, a tad frustrating, but it's my first post-covid attempt at recovering my fitness after missing a couple. Still not right enough to run, but hopefully the following week i can jog. Cardiff Half Marathon is doomed for me. I signed up October 2019 and almost made the constantly rearranged date, but wont be fit for end of March now.

Fragile Do Not Bend
I’m going to an orienteering event in Danson Park in Bexley tomorrow, which handily has a parkrun in the same park that I haven’t been to before.

Think I am touristing to either Southall or Broadwater this week. Not sure which one yet. Both are 3 lappers but Southall looks more on paths I think. Anyone been to both yet?

Hi chunkywizard. Have only run at Southall of these 2 and really enjoyed it and volunteer team very friendly. It's a 3 lapper but route is quite varied , so doesn't feel too repetitive. All tarmac, other than one section of gravelly path, but road shoes fine. Parking along road at east end of park (as long as you are early enough). Afterwards headed west from park into Southall for a curry brunch, which made a change from usual post-run coffee

BK brighter days ahead
FDNB - hoping you have a good day at Danson Park. Heads up if needed that the toilet contractor can be a bit hit and miss, sometimes they are open before 9 but can be later. They have organised a pacing day this Saturday - all women pacers. The event can get busy and it is also a popular park for dog walkers - watch out for loose dogs and there is also a large Nordic walking group that you might encounter. If you have time, walk around the Old English Garden next to the main car park/Stables Pub. This was ‘rescued’ and now maintained by a group of volunteers - including several from parkrun. |

I've done both CW They are both nice. Broadwater is a bit more scenic and varied but has some parts on a field that I'm guessing is v muddy right now. Southall is three laps of an urban park. Both are friendly. I know the Southall team so a bit biased. |

Thanks Linds. I don't think I fancy muddy at the moment so Southall it is
