Lost track of which topic is the right one for general parkrun praise :)

Touristed at Fountains Abbey today. What a place.

Whoever had the initial inclination to get a parkrun going there, massive kudos to you. Superb location, lovely route and a good 5 hours spent there in total (before a 4 hour drive home).

Think there is a FA RD on here? Top stuff. Can only imagine the hurdles National Trust put you through to keep it going with the numbers.

I suspect the good quality paths ensure that they value the cafe income over any risk to people “staying for free” and lingering inside post run.

Unlike Yeovil with the grass route and numbers causing wear and tear…

Did my NENDY. Twenty minutes walk from my house! Nearly two years after making the first enquiry, and six weeks after launch, finally got to run West Links.

@lazydaisy yes that's my issue with Cranbrook too, the finish being so far from the start (and the cafe!). For that reason I don't think it will ever get overwhelmed.
