Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

I went swimming in Marlow lake on Sunday morning. Despite the amazing weather it was very quiet.

In contrast Wycombe lido (heated) was heaving this week, may give it a miss until Sept, they've increased the numbers allowed in.

Hoping for some sea swimming in Felixstowe later in August.

Warm enough for me to swim skins in the North Sea for 30 mins on Tuesday morning - roughly 16C water temp. Refreshing but not uncomfortable

21* in the Loch this morning. It’s so nice to swim skins. We were in about 45 mins. I loved it.

My charity swim challenge starts tomorrow, Swim the channel in 12 weeks! Sounds easy doesn't it, but as my usual average per week is 1 mile doubling that is going to be tough. Wish me luck, I will be blogging of course. :)

Beautiful pictures!

That’s another thing I love about open water swimming is being out and about and in stunning light esp early morning. It’s like a whole new world! Watching a fresh and bright new day come alive

Our temps are good here right now into 18/19/20 and both river and sea warming up. However they are too warm in part! Lol

Seems “it’s like a bath” is our summer saying with no F! I wonder when our winter “It’s F freezing” starts up again?!

I’m creating a years calendar of notes and observations. I’m almost round the clock of 12 months seriously in the water. It has been a fascinating journey

July I note warmness. Also jelly fish in our seas and in the river it’s duck mite bite time. Neither of these are there in the ffreezing months

I am curious to see how I cope in the Lakes and cant wait to step into the cold waters of Coniston again
