For me, the rests are between sets of the same exercises not when I switch from a different type of exercise to another (if that makes sense).

I have always taken a "get this done ASAP" approach

so I will do my fly straight into lateral into frontal raises then take 30 secs before repeating

but if I did them as separate exercises I could maybe do heavier weights
hmmmm

Yes. Remember though, Pix, I've been weight training for the past 11 or 12 years, pretty much consistently. When I first started weight training, I was only doing sessions of 20 minutes at a time with much lower weights than I use now. My advice, for what it's worth (I'm no expert by any means) would be to increase gradually.

We work on a rotating programme which changes each quarter so even if you go same time, same day you still get a different workout each time.

Whole work out lasts 50 minutes and each tri-set is repeated 3 or 4 times. We usually work in 3s depending on how any training and usually similar ability in each wee pod to eliminate too much changing of weights etc.
