Thanks Meglet, I've just downloaded the e-book (yet more 'equipment' collecting?). Thing is, I think of myself as more productive than creative, perhaps that's where the problem lies. I may just throw caution to the wind, and draw something, at last. |

I’m he same with art. It ‘terrifies’ me. Other crafty things i’m fine with there are things i can do and do confidently, there are things i can’t but am happy to be a beginner at. Drawing/painting i would love to do so much but am too afraid to get started. Like some others of you from the sounds of it, i buy stuff from time-to-time to draw/paint with and borrowed numerous ‘how-to-draw’ type books from the library and have a cupboard full of things to use, but have it in my head that i can’t. Not helped i expect by other very artistic family members incl daughter doing art degree, but gives my brain extra pressure (I know for certain family members do not judge me, and actually i think if i could do it instantly it would actually take away from the years they have spent practicing/learning etc). But…that feeling of ‘failure’ is also very real for me… 🤷🏻♀️

I seem to have a lot of art supplies but never get around to using them... I occasionally try to draw mandalas with mixed success.

I recommended a book to EP earlier calledThe Creative Licence by Danny Gregory! I was skimming earlier because it’s a long time since I read it but he likens learning to draw to learning to drive a car and says anyone can learn to draw. He is someone who turned to drawing later on in life. It’s a really good book. Another one is drawing for the terrified by Richard Box. |

I'm back enjoying my knitting which is nice and the cats have decided to accept it - well they stare and stare and occasionally wave their paw at the wool but otherwise OK. Only problem is knitting is stopping reading so I won't finish one of my books from the library of vrap! Which in turn means I will be forced to visit the lakes at some point to return it haha |
