I listen whilst running but have when knitting too
much current knitting time is in the evening on the sofa after work so TV is on

That's a nice hat, and it shows lots of colourways on the pattern.

Pix, it is only two colours per row. All fancy looking fairisle etc is usually two colours at a time, so you count main and contrast stiches. Two colours make for warmer hats because you carry the yarn behind. And the hat is in the round, so like a big sock and is just knit.

I tried a colourwork hat before and although it "worked" it was really hard slow work and I couldn't get the tension right so it was too tight where the colour was
Maybe it's a "retired pixie" project!

That is a nice hat. I particularly like the blue colourway.

Knitting in fairisle is particularly tricky, I just found I needed it really really loose.
