Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Those chaps on Cameron Buchan's vids always seem to be straddling bins at the end of their sessions.

I've not seen those videos, but that reminds me of the Gold Fever film that the BBC did about the awesome foursome when they were training for the Sydney Olympics (it's still on YouTube, I must watch it again sometime).

There was one episode where the BBC turned up when the crew were doing 5k test pieces on the erg. They were all collapsing and gagging afterwards, and Steve Redgrave joked that the public perception of their training would be that it was always that full-on :-)

I remember seeing that at the time Oranj, and wondering at the mentality of people who would suffer like that for something so ultimately trivial. Admirable but certainly eccentric and unbalanced!

Sounds interesting, will take a look. On the subject of vids, I found this one about the O'Donavan brothers which I think is just great!

Sooner them than me is all I can say ...

Steady continuous 7500m this morning. Stayed focused on stroke rate to keep it at 20 and hold pace of previous steady, which was 7000m. Done at 2:14.5 vs previous 2:15, hr slightly higher but within target max of middle of UT1 range (in my case 135). So a good mostly UT2, slightly UT1 session.

I'm off out for a pasty now :-)

And I've just noticed that that workout takes me and my beloved model D to beyond 10 million metres together. I think that's worth two pasties!

Nice session, Muttley. Two pasties it is!

Just got my own C2 yesterday and looking forward to our first session together. Wonder how long it will take to clock up 10 million metres...

A quick Pete Plan question - are you supposed to row lightly through the recoveries (that's what the C2 workout of the day suggests), or stop completely?

Nice work Muttley. That’s a lot of strokes!

CW I don’t know what the Pete Allan says specifically but generally gentle movement clears any lactic acid more quickly that sitting still. Make sure it is very gentle though.

Mousey, thanks for sharing that clip. That’s awesome! I remember them winning that medal and being interviewed. They came across as a right pair of nutters. I can see why now!
