Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Muttley a few years ago I saw 30s drop from my running pace after a month of regular rowing.

I printed off the Pete Plan today. Just saying.

“Easy” 10k tonight. Are any rows actually easy? I finished it soaked in sweat despite keeping he, rage and pace where they should be for “easy”.

SK, I like that sort of advance in time !

Nellers, I think they all make you sweat 🙂 the real difference is how long it wipes you out for.

Talking of which, failed to get the row in yesterday as a 6km run effort was a bit too threshold and did me in for the day. Row will now be this afternoon ... I hope.

I plan on having another go at this months C2CTC tonight, which is:

Row 11 reps of 111 metres with 1 minute rest, free drag, free rating.

First rep from a standing start, next 10 as you like.

I had a go last week and managed an average 1:32.1/500m across the 11 reps.
Hoping to get this below 1:30 either tonight or at least before the month is up.

Does anyone know of any guidleines/plans out there that incorporate rowing into a running training plan? Any guidelines on substituting rowing with running in an existing plan. I find rowing much easier on the achilles.

Nice improvement Mutt & SK!

Nellers - No!

On the subject of wipe outs... L3 15 x 3' / 1' for me today, 3s quicker than 2k pace. Did the same piece on Saturday @ 2k pace, so going in the right direction.

That's pretty damn quick, sinj - best of luck with the 1:30 target.

True enough Jef. I feel fine today.

Sinj, that's a tough session at that pace mate. Well done!

Mousey, L3 from Wolverine shouldn't be quicker than 2k pace. If you're managing that you need to retest. I'll fetch a bucket.

1000m warmup then 3 x 2000m with 4-min rests. I decided to see what I could do on the final rep. Plan was to hold 2:02 until 1500m and then hammer it in the final 500m. Didn't quite work out that way, I faded a bit towards the end. But not too disheartened by 8:08.5. The other two reps were comfortable enough at 2:06.
