Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Thats pretty good after Muttley, especialy as the 3rd rep of that session. Sub 8 is clearly within you if you just do a test in isolation.

Happy with tonight’s C2CTC attempt.
Average 1:27.1/500m across 11x111m/1:00r
DF up to 140 and rolling starts on all but the first rep.
Lower back will need a good rest tonight.

Enjoy your weekends.

Mousey.. what Nellers said ! you're looking a bit better than your current plan is running at !

Muttley, what's your current 2k or 2k prediction ? Nice 3 x 2km.

2k test day for me and I'm feeling a little nervous. About to have a coffee and a bite to eat before doing dad taxi duty onthe way to the gym.

Plan is to do a good warm up (10 minutes ont he bike then 4-5km on the rower), psych myself up for it then murder myself. I hope I'll manage another 3 or 4 km after as a steady row to let things normalise but it might take a while before I start that.

Aim is to hold a pace better than 1:55, hopefully closer to 1:50. I reckon I'll start aiming for 1:55 and see how that feels at half way.

I'm sure I'm not in PB shape. That would need a very low 1:49. That's for another day with a few more weeks of training.

In other news I ordered my BRIC-used Concept2 last night. I'm going to go to BRIC as a spectator then collect it afterwards. Excited!

Also it occured to me that 2018 is approaching it's end and I've stupidly named this thread specifically "2018". Does anyone feel the need for a new "2019" thread to be started on 1/1 or is this place feeling too much like home now? What are your thoughts?

Best of luck with the test, Nellers and congrats on the purchase!

Re the thread title, I'm personally not bothered either way. 2018 represents a bit of a year zero in my rowing 'career', so it's kind of fitting. But if you see fit to change, rather than starting a new thread could Fetch be approached to do something from the business end to alter title?

We can ask him.

I aten’t dead. 7:20.2. Final 500 split was 1:47.3.

Managed to lose a single contact lens wiping my face after the warmup so the display was a bit blurry. Not sure if that helped or hindered.

Very pleased with that though. Pb for Xmas!

Woo-hoo! Outstanding, Sir!

As a fellow contact lens wearer I feel your pain. Had to stop rowing mid-summer as the constant streaming sweat in the eyes was excruciating.

When I got into the locker rooms I found the stray lens creased up and tucked under the side of my eyelid. I thought it was just irritated by the sweat!🤦🏼‍♂️
