Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Yep, the bluetooth thing is a big change, and the only reason I upgraded my ancient model C to a PM5. I was lucky at the time I upgraded, a friend and only an intermittent rower had just had the grey screen of death on his PM3 so he was happy to buy my old one for a fair price.

The PM5 allows you to set up sessions on your phone in Ergdata, row them, and then download them automagically to t'internet. If you buy a smartphone cradle ( shop-uk.concept2.com ) you can sit the phone on top of the monitor and have a customizable display, or row around a virtual loop with some other like-minded idiots. You can also do firmware updates via your phone: that annoying thing that's been bugging you? Probably fixed in the latest update.

Jeez, I sound like some sort of PM5 salesman.

Thanks folks. I think I have a look at this every 2 years or so and then come to the conclusion that I could simply type the data into whatever other system I care about, and I'm simply looking for an excuse not to use the bloody thing. In the dim and distant past I did have it hooked up to a laptop to do virtual racing etc but the connectors are obsolete. And I'm not doing structured sessions like most of you, so I think I'll save the £160 for now.

Got something to say?
