I'm quite enjoying the RowAlong sessions. This morning: 20 x 20 secs alternating 2k+20 and 2k+5, three sets with 2:30 rests. The idea is to maintain effort and form and control pace through the stroke rate. Harder than it sounds.

I found the reps a little short and would probably prefer 30 secs, but still a good sesh.

Oh yes, I did that one a couple of weeks ago Muttley. The third set was tough.

Agreed that 20s from a standing start was a bit short - that limits the average pace for each sprint quite a bit.

My only bling from C2 so far is shiny marathon pin, but 950 000 metres in the log says there's another pin & t-shirt coming soon.

Yes. Time has dulled the memory of the pain. 😬

Nice tankards Jef!

Think my free stuff just consists of 3 pins and 2 shirts (they seem decent quality), which is 5 items more than I received during 30 years of membership with the British Athletics Federation/UK Athletics/England Athletics πŸ˜‚

My freebie, plus this evening's PB, for the C2 mid March Challenge. And added the extra to keep the 10k+ per day going for March too.

Quiet in here - hope everyone's been keeping busy.

I resurrected the C2 at work this week. Two new D batteries and some sandpaper (previous batteries had been neglected and had chemical leaks inside the PM5 casing), a flash drive sorted ot the firmware upgrade, and some elbow grease got the layers of crud off of the rail (with water and paper towels).

Finally got to use it yesterday. Need the damper setting on 8 to give a drag factor of 121 (!) which my Rowerg does at setting 5. No phone holder, so I balanced my phone with ergdata near my feet. I went for 4 x 2km rows, at 2k+8, 2k+7, 2k+6 & 2k+4 pace.

Today's news: 1 000 000 m

Which comes from four months of proper rowing, after a few false starts last Autumn.

Very nice indeed, Andy ... the expert arithmetic to make sure the log shows exactly 1,000,000 is noted!

And that sounds like a good workout. Must try it myself sometime although I might adjust the pace to a little slower.

I learned a PM5 trick today. You can switch off the timeout (well, set it to 12 hours) if you find that the PM5 goes blank at inconvenient times.

Menu -- more options -- utilities -- battery -- press units 3 times -- press display 3 times. Screen says "12 hour timeout". Press continue and do workout. Screen will show "12h" in corner as reminder.

Repeat key sequence to revert (or suffer rapid battery drain).
