That's good to hear Jef, hopefully more time on the erg will help strengthen the knees!

Awesome marathon time Andy, sounds like the mental strength you've built during years of ultra running got you through that final half hour, well done! Nice improvement on yesterday's 2k too!

Thanks Craggy - it's been quite a positive weekend, at both ends of the spectrum. But I wouldn't recommend sitting on a firm seat for two hours afterwards, with aching hamstrings (musical concert & OH had bought tickets).

Jef, it was r22/r21 for the first half, rising to r23/r24 for the second half. The final full 2k was r27, with r30 showing for that final 195 metres (finish line in sight, no longer worried about the calf cramping up). I've added the splits, etc. into my training log so you can see them there now if you'd like. I carelessly let the splits for 6k to 16k drift above the required 2:08, which was a bit silly and made for a lot of hard work later.

I started back on the Rowerg at the beginning of Feb and managed to put in an 8:13 2km effort after 7 days ... a minute and 7 seconds slower than last year.

Although 2km times are my goal everything else impacts so a good rounded choice of efforts will be needed BUT to see how its progressing I'm planning a 2km time trial every 1st of the month to see how its going.

So, possibly sneak under 8 minutes tomorrow ? sub 7 before retirement!!

Well.. got to start back somewhere.

Cant say that was comfortable at all. Just glad I don't need to do one for 30 days.

Yeah, impressive final split, especially given that the rate was actually dropping by that stage (although I bet the last 50-100m was a bit higher than the average!).

Thanks Andy, Nellers. ( yes, the last 150 metres was around 1:40 pace :-D )

As nearly all of my stuff is 20 spm or lower and all strapless I just struggled to get to the 32 spm I wanted. This morning my legs are reminding me that you need to practice for higher rate.

I suspect the speed wont come back quite as fast as it did a few years back.

Very nice indeed, Jef. Negative split and steady spm noted. Suggest sub-8 and turn in 7:40 ... you underestimate yourself!

I'm getting to grips with the PM5. Seems you can't get it to remember an hr strap, you have to pair it every time. Unless someone knows otherwise.

I’ve never worked out how but mine sometimes remembers the strap and sometimes has to be re-paired.

There must be some logic to it bu I’ve not spotted it in a couple of years of owning one.

Mine has never remembered but does connect very quickly when hitting the “connect” button. Maybe after 7 years I should read the instructions 😁
