How's indoor rowing in Fetchland going? Injuries? Shiny new Rowergs? HR monitors connected?

I've embraced the C2 logbook March Challenge and gone for the 10k a day approach. 5k felt a bit short (maybe that's just me). And it's actually 25/31 days in March, but I'm trying to keep something in store for unknowns later in the month.

So, nothing much to report, apart from tired arms, tired legs, a couple of late evening rows where I usually would have just missed a day. Today's Rowalong 12x2min/rest 1min were tough, increasing from 2k+5s pace through to 2k pace with each interval. No PB attempts during this training phase.

How about you?

I've been allowed out for walks, which is progress. A few steps closer to getting back on the Erg. Very impressed with the progress you've been making _andy.

Well done on the 2k and also the lifetime 20 million metres Jef, that's a lot of hours spent on the erg ๐Ÿ’ช

Hope you're enjoying your black beauty Muttley, there was an interesting discussion on the C2 Community FB page the other day about whether older machines are faster because there's less tension on the bungee cord, don't know if you've noticed any differences?
My HR strap never saves either, every time I use Ergdata it asks if I'd like to save HR but it never does.

Good to see you making progress Nellers and I hope you're back rowing soon, the rowing league just doesn't look right without your name on it!

Good luck with the Mud Season challenge Andy, I might manage the 5k challenge. I've had a cough so haven't done much lately, will have an easy day tomorrow as we've got an early start for Angie's Retford Half marathon, but hopefully I'll be back on it next week.

Jef: wow! That's quite phenomenal. Enjoy the free Concept2 sports bag. I've got my sights set on one million metres, which is quite a long way, so 20M is off the chart. Thanks for sharing the stats.

Hope to see you back soon Nellars. I'm reading back issues of this thread and enjoying your enthusiasm there (I'm up to about two years ago!)

Craggy, I've never liked running streaks. They felt counter-productive in terms of training benefit. But rowing seems different in terms of avoiding impact and being to vary pace and rate. Will see how it goes - but better have some easy days next week so I can try a decent 1k attempt for the next C2 challenge.

Free bag ? Oh. Hadnโ€™t realised that. I keep getting badges and pins and things.

The first million alway seemed the hardest but I think your distances will get you there in quick time Andy.

Rowing done before (a later) breakfast today.

That was a surprisingly good sweat-fest, with 15/10/5 minutes (no rests), at r20/r24/r20, with the tough part being the pace: 2k+18, 2k+12, 2k+5. I love the way that anyone can make a session like this equally tough by using a pace based on their own current 2k time.

I noticed the freebies at concept2.com Jef. I should hit that 1 000 000 metre mark next weekend, so there's a shiny pin plus a t-shirt to look forward to.

I like the look of the workout Andy. What are you following? Iโ€™m sure I could go back through the thread and find out. ๐Ÿค”
