Long old slog sounds just about right, sinj! Don't envy you that challenge but good luck.
Some nice 10K/12K efforts there. This has turned into a cutback week for me while I catch up on other stuff but hoping to pick it up again next week.
Retirement's a long way off for me too, but my partner's retiring next month (big age gap 😲), so part of my brain is currently in sympathetic wind-down. Just trying to work out how to fit my very much fulltime work around doing retired stuff with him.
Anyway, happy new year, all!

I'm further away from retirement than I was five years ago following divorce, new mortgage etc.. it's a good job I like to be busy 😁
Good luck with the 400k Sinj, you'll be very fit at the end of that challenge!
I finished the month on 170k which is my highest month of the season so far, and I've also managed a few 5k runs since Christmas - first proper runs since June!
Happy new year everyone ☺️

Retirement with financial security seems like a long way off for me.
Anyway, got up and churned out another 45 minutes/10k in the shed. It was above freezing. There's nothing much remarkable about it other than that it starts the year off nicely.

Good news about the runs, Craggy. Must be a great feeling!
Nice one, Nellers. Good to keep banking the metres.

Yeah it feels good to be out running with no pain CW, I'm huffing and puffing a bit but enjoyable all the same☺️
Well done Nellers, keep at it!

Well done guys. And welcome back to running, Craggy. You know the drill, don't overdo it ...
Starting another round of the slightly modified Pete Plan so 6 x 500m this morning, after a decent warmup. Went for a run yesterday, rowing today, start the year as we mean to go on, and all that.

I just did it the other way round Mutters. Rowed yesterday, short run on the treadie today (along with some Murph practice again).

I've just signed up for the January Stretch challenge: 20 rows this month but as the minimum is just 500m it's very achievable. Other targets are available (most of which you lot will do without even thinking about it!).
Kicking off later today.

Missing my running. Went from 40 miles a week to nothing for three months. Missing it lots. Piriformis STILL causing me pain. ... ah well. Rowing and bike is keeping me ticking over.
Looking forward to seeing how everyone does this year. 😎

2 x 30 minutes with a minute to drink water and wipe sweat inbetween ticked off.
It felt so much more natural and smooth this morning and I'm not sure why because I've surely not done enough rowing at this stage to have gained any fitness. Ups and downs I guess?
Anyway, I actually really enjoyed that.
