Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Ditto Nellers on setting them up, it’s been a while since I did anything much in the PM5, I was cursing while trying to follow the letters but it was better once I figured it out for myself.

Canned my row yesterday a few minutes into it - still enough to count for the Jan challenge but too many trivial annoyances.

It happens, SK. I binned mine today halfway through. Was supposed to be 10,000 at UT2 pace but hr was a good 10 bpm above the norm. No idea why, cos I feel fine. I'll see how it goes next time.

I do suspect, however, that there's a hidden feature in the hrm that ups the number when it knows I'm looking at it.

Hope it goes better next time, SK and Muttley.

A question for anyone who uses the Fetch training plan: How do I get sessions to transfer from my training plan straight into my log? When I used the plan a few years ago, the sessions transferred automatically into my log on the scheduled day. I've tried using it again this week and have been getting a reminder when the session is due but it doesn't transfer to my log and I can't see how to do this. TIA.

CW, on the training plan thing Fetch has recently done a change to split the plan from the log. Apparently behind the scenes those links were causing a lot of additional unnecessary complexity in "the code".

You're not missing anything in it not linking across. It just doesn't do that any more.

(Also I think Fetch is working fixing a bug where KM sessions go weird when you move or amend them)

Ah, thanks for that, Nellers. Glad it turned out to be the system, not me!

Pete Plan 5 x 1500 m sesh done. Today was a run day and the forecast was for sunny intervals and intermittent showers. Instead, the sky was black and it per-per-persisted down all morning so I climbed on the rower. Naturally, the clouds have now dispersed and the sun is out. Oh well, running tomorrow then.

70 days of fairly specific training hit the target today.

8000 metres @ 20 s/m. Sub 2:00 pace.

Time to start chasing that sub 7 minute 2km methinks.

That's bloody quick at 20 mate! I'm very impressed.

I managed a 3 x 25 minutes @ r18 this morning. Longest session I've done for a while and the last piece was a real slog but I did it and it's meters in the bank. I'm a good way further off from a sub-7 attempt than you though, Jef, that's for sure!

Thanks Nellers .

I built up to it doing very similar workouts to the one you’ve done there. Just making sure the watts increased weekly.

I think lots of long low rate stuff can get you a long way down the road to better times at shorter distances.

Confused here.

Can someone remind me whether rest metres count towards our total on the C2 logbook?

I can also find out myself by making a note of my season's metres and seeing how it changes after the next interval session of course.

Thinking of asking Fetch whether it's possible to add a link to the Import page from the Add Training Manually box on the Training homepage - or am I just being too fussy?

A session tonight which reminded me just how unfit I am. I might never get back to being able to hold sub-2:15 for 5000m but you've got to start somewhere.
