Raptors claws are coming to town
I've been quoted batches of 15s sprints at 5.15mm pace, which led to a small domestic dispute about whether or not I might in the past have touched that pace. I say no. eL Bee! says probably yes, just for a few paces, running downhill, back when my knees could take it. We agreed that I've never been able to run that pace for 15 seconds. I had Productive for a few days but I didn't run yesterday and it's pushed me back to Maintaining, which is fine. I don't need to be Productive at the moment. |

5:15! can the watch even work out your pace accurately in 15 seconds anyway? mine usually has 15s sprints in the low 7s, I like trying them but can't get there and am swerving atm as I can't imagine they're very good for dodgy achilles tendons I had productive for a day, maintaining for a day and then two days strained. I did feel, yesterday, that I was coming down with something *again* but feel fine this morning. After 2 days off am back to maintaining, hrv still unbalanced (low) 40 mins base@143 bpm |

It's nippier than I can manage. I think Garmin may assume an even distribution of muscle fibre types, which means that for those of us with no sprint speed the pace suggestions for the very short efforts look unrealistic. Though at the moment it's being a bit ambitious generally, with 9.40mm for base and long runs.

At least mine is consistent. It's been saying that I'm "maintaining" for the last few weeks. In fact, I just checked. Maintaining has been the theme for most of the last 6 months*. * Just a brief day or two of 'recovery when I was on holiday on Menorca in October. |

Unless it's the result of a GPS error, it's the pace of your 100m 12 month benchmark on your profile. Neuromuscular efforts are always a bit more of a stab in the dark though, as they're not really well coupled with aerobic profiles that the models are generally built on. |

12 month benchmark? Crikey, I'm obviously faster than I think I am And it's not entirely unfeasible, since I've just had a peek at my race results and my track 100m pace from October this year comes out at 6.08mm and that wasn't downhill with a following wind.

My new Garmin seems quite confused. It keeps telling me to do 30 min base runs yet when I ignore it and run much more than that (admittedly still in zone 2) it loves me, tells me I am Productive and my training is Optimal (well why didn't you recommend the runs I actually did then?) This is the first watch I've had that gives race predictions, I am glad i didn't have it before my target marathon as it was pessimistic and would have given me a prediction almost 15 minutes slower than the time I actually ran. I think I might ignore most of these features. On the plus side it thinks I have Elite endurance (lol) and am only a tender 31 rather than rapidly closing in on 40! |

Suggested today Active rest 17.xx mm pace Ideally rest Due poor sleep … didn’t think I got to sleep until 1:30. I ended up reading until that time as I couldn’t sleep. Was awake before 6 I think I was conscious of a late Tesco shop My BB got to 25 😮 HRV was 60 last night instead of 80+ |

The race predictions might improve as the watch gets more experience of your running, @auburnette. I've had silly predictions in the past, but they're currently only slightly flattering. About 2 minutes out for 5k, which sounds like a lot but is within normal day to day variability for me.
