After particularly tough events (off road, hilly, and marathon or longer), I've seen body battery sit at 5 for a couple of days.

oh gosh that's impressive! I've dropped to 5 for many hours during the day on a few days (like when I support/volunteer at Outlaw) but never stayed at 5 for days!

Sit at 5 for a couple of days sounds particularly bad as it indicates no recovery!

I'm still maintaining during base training before the next marathon training block starts on the 22nd. Naturally, I have anaerobic shortage, as I don't do hard track sessions during base training. Heat acclimation is at 39% after a couple of hot runs on the weekend, up from 16 at its lowest last week.

RHR has been 41 for 4 days in a row now, good sign that I'm fully recovered.

Sleep score 86, good for 7:15 hours of pretty much uninterrupted sleep.

The suggestion is base training for 44 min. I might run about 40 min with the beginners today, maybe shorter because it's so hot and humid over here. It's 31°C with a feels like 36°C because of high humidity. We have a level 1 heat warning so I may change plans with the group for safety reasons.

Partly reflects that the BB range is restricted to give you useful info about more typical days, I think, but I could see that the stress levels from HR & HRV were staying very high overnight which would look like no useful recovery; in fact it's more like useful recovery from utterly trashed to very trashed.

how come some garmins appear to be giving power readings on runs?
how can it work this out?

Mine wanted a threshold run again so I ignored it and ran to work - I may do some faster bits on the way home
RHR a bit better

HRV improved but still low so strained (with anaerobic shortage obvs!)

Mine has power, I assume it’s internally consistent but how it works it out and how accurate it is I have no idea. I ignore it.

HRV just crept up into balanced again, wonder if it will stay there more than 24 hours this time? RHR is still 38.

Thinks I had 8 hours sleep, but I didn’t- despite not getting up until 8.30 and has body battery up to 96,training readiness moderate- whereas I feel tired and completely lacking in oomph.

Suggestion is 26 minutes recovery - will do a gentle hour.

It's computation rather than direct measurement, Pix, and you may be able to download the feature if your watch doesn't have it in place.

Its accuracy depends on accurate numbers for other factors I'm not convinced a wristwatch can measure, so it may not be entirely reliable, but I find it internally consistent. The running FTP tables posted on my blog a couple of days ago suggest that my measurements are on the flattering side.

OIC I did think it was odd that a watch could do that but then I guess it's no more odd than a watch alone giving a VO2 max reading

I'm getting loads of adverts for Stryd just now, but I'm not tempted. I don't need to risk being distracted by even more essentially unmodifiable data. Am not that interested in myself.

About This Thread

Maintained by EvilPixie
According to my Garmin this morning my body battery was at just 41 and I was "strained"
I have been strained for most days in the last 2 weeks
My body battery has also been low

So today it suggested a threshold run of up to an hour!

What's your Garmin say?
