Oops and took it to the car. Elder one kicked it under the car which was parked one away from us.

My husband calmly said you need to get that ‘can’t reach’ was the reply. We then sat in the car for around an hour until the driver of that car came back. Her biggest bug bear now is litter. One lesson duly learnt.

My theory is that all the litterers and fire setters are not normally the sort of people who would go to these beauty spots but they are the only places available to them at the moment, as they can’t go to Benidorm, or to theme parks, or to pub gardens, music festivals, sports events etc etc (the carnage after a hot day at the horse racing is astounding). They don’t have any sense of respect for these places, they’ve just heard about them on the news so go there. They are probably not the sort of people that “we” lovers of the fells would normally come into contact with.

We get kids walking up here on paths around our fields (we're on a small farm) and they look like moths when someone switched off the light - flapping around like they don't know where they are! Walking around with a plastic bag with cans clanking asking "how do you get up that hill, pal?" Harmless enough, but definitely not in their natural environment! :-) G

Happy - I see lots of teenage kids walk past my house and then onto the river footpath carrying huge Gucci style handbags wearing fashion trainers - the trail is quite rough in parts - it does make me smile though the idea of taking a huge designer handbag and very very white fashion trainers on a river path :)

mathschick - the Erin Bromage article linked to in the sidebar gives a very good explanation of contagion within a work environment.

ok, so as I suspected, sitting in a room all day with people, it doesn't matter if you are 2m away because the time factor will mean increased viral load from anyone infected, specially if they sneeze or cough.

Slight change of subject, but pleased to report that the turtle's school reopening went well. She's been in every day due to my job, but obviously lots more children in today and no issues. Her teacher is elderly and has been shielding, but came back as well today to support her class - definitely a show of faith in the system!
