DrBob hectic start, first two miles in 11 min dead, then hit the wind and just got slower and slower. Concentration really isn't good and needs to improve. Last half mile at 5.26 pace right into the headwind shows I wasn't dead, just lazy into the wind and need to work a lot harder instead of racing at 90% effort level. Got first M45 and county V40 medal, so not all bad.

gingerwand i,ve not gone under 7 min mile pace since cambourne 09 (41.35) due to doing 2 marathons in 3 wks in april/may 09 so it,ll be interesting to see where i,m at and hopefully up from there...

Girlie 2 weeks after VLm and giving blood on the Tuesday before. PB highly unlikely, so planning on mincing round and having fun. Anything around the hr would be fine. It's my birthday and I'm not going to let the NVH cretins spoil my day this year. ***UPDATE*** Enjoyed this much more than last year. Just plodded round havign fun and happy with time as pace is still lacking post marathon

Lyra OK Watch time. Really awful race. A dreadful start, lots of jostling and tripping over people and having others trip over me - found that very off putting. Wasn't going for a PB anyway, but times just got worse and worse. In the end, I just focussed on getting round. Over three minutes over my Cambourne time from last month which was off road and undulating - go figure. Various factors might have contributed to the bad time, I know I'm much better than today's performance.

Mother Twiglet A good flat race, well marshalled, most of it on open country roads, a short distance on a grass and dirt track. Well organised with plenty of refreshments at start/finish as well and water station at mid way point. I would do this race again. Weather on day was dry but slightly windy especially on the open fen roads, and in places where sheltered quite warm, which since the day before was a wash out I was pleased with.
