In case anyone has forgotten (like I did) these mile efforts fit nicely into the Galloway calculator for appropriate run/walk ratios and for race time prediction. I wish I had remembered that for the half I did last wkkend, since my mile time for the month gave a close prediction. Of course, we have a bunch of Fetch calculators too fetcheveryone.com/training-calculators.php

Congrats NO and GG on your awesome mile times. I had a crack at it today and I'm getting closer to my PB. 1 second faster than last month, 6:41 with slightly DOMSy legs. The hilly half of last weekend is still in the system. Maybe I can have another go next Tuesday and see if I can get under 6:40. |

Well done Owlie, gg and tipsku. Did my attempt yesterday. Wasn't really in the mood for it, but it what I'd scheduled. My mile is straight and flat and felt as if it was into the wind. 8:48. |

Did my attempt this afternoon - not great at pacing it, but managed 7:22, so in the last three months that's been 7:54, 7:31, 7:22. My immediate target is 7:17 - back in 2008 I ran the Windermere Marathon at 7:17 pace - so I'd like to be able to run a mile at the pace I ran that marathon! |

Well done TR! I went out thinking I'd do mine today, but my legs and head weren't in it so I abandoned it very early on. I'll leave it until next month now. |
