Sombrero
I did mine at the Gosport Golden Mile yesterday. I worked out a target of 7.10 based on WAVA but couldn't hold the pace. 7.27 is a decent marker that I will start to look at getting down.

Turns out doing 3 5K races (well 1 race and 2 parkruns) in the 8 days before isn't the best prep.

Great running Som, esp with not ideal prep (but you can’t miss a parkrun, obv ;) )

Did mine 19/6/23

Same out and back route as for May

Time 6:14 so 1 second slower than May.
Quite pleased though as had a bit of glute or back pain to right side on and off last few days

About This Thread

Maintained by Fenland Flier
For encouragement and general chat about the virtual mile challenges.

It's not easy pacing a mile race whether it's virtual or real, be it on track, road, grass or trail. Go out too hard initially and struggle towards the end, go out too soft and regret your finish time.

Use this thread to record your jubilation or allow us to commiserate with you.
