Plan is to do one either tomorrow or Friday (volunteering at parkrun on Saturday). If I put it on here, I have to do it!

Good luck Sombrero.
I've still got my mile to do, no parkrun for me this weekend or next as we have plans and no Sunday long runs either.

luck Som.
I’m unlikely to be doing a fast mile whilst we are on holiday. - I haven’t yet found a mile of flat without either road junctions, gates or a hill midway.

Did my mile yesterday afternoon. It was a tad warm and I wasn't properly hydrated. Clocked 8:46 which is the third fastest (or third slowest) this year!

My mile race on Friday was rubbish so I'm hoping to get another virtual done some time soon.

Southsea parkrun today. Decided to do two warm up miles and then see how fast I could do the third mile. 8:24, a fast mile is way longer than a normal mile :) Not great but if I want to get a parkrun PB I need to go quite a bit faster than that for 3.12 miles. Good to have a starting point.

I ran on the beach. It is long enough for a virtual Mike but with the wind and patches of soft sand, I’ll struggle to get a good time. I might give it a go tomorrow just to see what happens 😃

About This Thread

Maintained by Fenland Flier
For encouragement and general chat about the virtual mile challenges.

It's not easy pacing a mile race whether it's virtual or real, be it on track, road, grass or trail. Go out too hard initially and struggle towards the end, go out too soft and regret your finish time.

Use this thread to record your jubilation or allow us to commiserate with you.
