I couldn't get a decent mile effort in because of other race commitments this month so I'm going to take the fastest mile from the 7 mile trail race as my benchmark for this month, 7:01. Not bad for an offroad downhill mile. I'm glad I made it down in one piece.

Next attempt in October on the track, maybe next week after I've recovered from the 10k trail race on Saturday.

Well done @tipsku.

I've not registered a mile time for 3 months now and have got out of the 'habit' of running (which it was) I run because I enjoy it and decided that I wasn't so now I'm going out when I feel like it (and when it's not raining) and I am enjoying those runs which is the important thing.

Will have a go this month, probably next week. Tempo today, first mile 9.17, second part 8.48 so could go well....

About This Thread

Maintained by Fenland Flier
For encouragement and general chat about the virtual mile challenges.

It's not easy pacing a mile race whether it's virtual or real, be it on track, road, grass or trail. Go out too hard initially and struggle towards the end, go out too soft and regret your finish time.

Use this thread to record your jubilation or allow us to commiserate with you.
